It’s super good to have strong opinions, to write about them and refine them.
It’s basically impossible to have strong opinions without writing about them imo. — elsewise, there’s no way to commit to them and also you just couldn’t flesh them out very well.
Writing is so awesome: thought the contents of my brain are pretty ephemeral, I can capture some of them on a page. This is how progress is made. For instance, have you ever tried to make progress on a math problem without writing stuff?! It’s impossible.
Also, for learning things, writing is super valuable. imo you understand something iff you can explain it to someone who doesn’t know what it is. If only high-school students were encouraged to write stuff instead of fill out endless pages of meaningless computations or whatever it is they do! The ability to be good at explaining things seems pretty rare and extremely valuable, and it can be learned by writing.
